About NextInstrument

Hello, Thanks for visiting my site! NextInstrument is a site to provide distilled and effective information to help you find your next instrument – the one instrument that will bring tons of joy your musical learning journey!

My name is Ju Tian, the founder of NextInstrument.com. I started to play the keyboard at the age of 6. I was drawn to many different instruments after I grew up, such as piano, ocarina, flute ukuleles. I love to play music and to explore all kinds of exotic instruments in addition to the mainstream ones. I hope one day I could travel around the world and experience the music around the world.

I’ve tried to learn instruments in all kinds of ways, from taking costy private lessons to following free youtube videos. In this process, I realized that it is easy to get lost when you try to pick up a new instrument as a beginner. I hope my site can provide profession, concise and yet in-depth content on picking up an instrument.

On your way of mastering a musical instrument, usually the first question is which particular brand or model of instrument to own. In my own experience, no matter if it is a digital piano that is worth thousands of dollars or an ocarina that is worth less than 50 bucks, I always ended up spending hours digging through information to make the decision. It is probably better off for me to spend the same time on actually practicing the instrument. I hope the buying guides on my site could help you save time when you search for your dream instrument.

To produce high quality content for music lovers around the world, I’ve got a team of writers that have both professional musicians and music enthusiasts. Our goal is that every article should provide accurate and expert information while remaining accessible and straightforward to beginners.

In the future, I would also like to build some free tools to help learn to play music.

Lastly, learning to play an instrument is a long journey, and the most important thing is that you enjoy the process. I hope music can be your lifelong friend <3

Papa Udeme

Papa Udeme is a professional musician and has a bachelor of arts degree in music.

He was born in the Southern part of Nigeria and was raised in a family of five. Papa started to pursue his music dream without initial support from his parents. He enrolled in the church’s choir and further started learning how to play the guitar and the saxophone. He further went on to teach himself some music theory. After his parents saw the determination, they finally decided to give him approval in his career path. He studied for a diploma in music technology for two years and became skilled in music production and beat making. He then completed a diploma degree in music and art in his home state and now owns a home recording studio where he produces most of his songs.

Papa has work experience as a music producer, church guitarist, and saxophonist and also a music teacher. He is familiar with the guitar, saxophone, trumpet, drums, piano, synthesizers, trombone, and a lot of other instruments. He also started an independent radio program known as “Never Heard Of” on local radio that focused on telling untold black history and also promoting unheard independent black musicians.

Thomas Pitto

Thomas Pitto is a freelance writer and a lifelong musician. He’s been playing piano since he was 5 and started guitar, ukulele, and violin about 10 years later. He’s also picked up some different kinds of flutes on his travels around the world as well as a handpan.

He’s spent the past year researching production techniques, which he now also includes in his musical vocabulary. He’s now beginning to produce his own music in a variety of styles, mostly world music.

As a music enthusiast, Thomas understands what information beginners need the most. He always uses plain language to explain complicated concepts. Wherever possible, he weaves the history and culture behind instruments into his articles.

He also holds an MA in Indian Religions and Philosophy and practices Ashtanga yoga daily.
